Sir Peter Hendy has served as the capital’s transport Commissioner since 2006, having previously served since as its Managing Director of Surface Transport for five years. In his current role he oversaw TfL’s work to ensure the capital’s transport network would cope with the unprecedented demands placed on it by 2012 Olympics.
New trains ordered for former West Anglia routes into Liverpool Street
45 state of the art trains have been ordered to replace the ageing fleet currently causing delays and problems for passengers using the newly devolved rail services in and out of Liverpool Street station. Passengers on the new routes have experienced a series of cancellations and delays which TfL says are due to the poor condition and age of trains it inherited when taking over the service.

Rail devolution to bring lower fares for former Greater Anglia passengers
From May 31st, services between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town, Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) and Chingford, along with services between Romford and Upminster, will become part of TfL’s London Overground service.
