The City of London is to contribute £200m to delivering the Crossrail project and will seek £150m of contributions from businesses under a new funding agreement announced today.
Tube Lines boss moves to Crossrail
Terry Morgan, Chief Executive of tube maintenance contractor Tube Lines has been appointed non-executive chairman of Crossrail. Morgan will replace Doug Oakervee at Crossrail in November 2009 and remains with Tube Lines until then.
Mayor Johnson launches 10 year transport plan (updated)
Boris Johnson was at London Underground headquarters in Central London this morning to unveil a new ten year plan for investment in the capital’s transport network.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has outlined his vision for the capital’s transport network and called for a “fair approach to all road users” while also promising “continued investment in policing, security, and CCTV to make the transport network safer”.

The One London party has accused Government Ministers of giving business in the capital a ‘slap in the face’ after Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly confirmed that London Mayor Ken Livingstone would control the new Crossrail project.
