Goldsmith: London’s Tube & rail passengers face worsening conditions unless investment is safeguarded

London’s rising population means transport bosses are drawing up plans to service 330 million extra journeys each year but Mr Goldsmith says these plans would be put at risk by Sadiq Khan’s pledge to freeze Transport for London fares for the full four-year mayoral term.

Is UKIP set to become City Hall’s third largest party?

The big news from yesterday’s YouGov poll was Sadiq Khan’s 16 point lead over Zac Goldsmith in the mayoral race but there’s another, pretty much unreported, finding contained within the full tables – UKIP looks set to become the third largest party on the London Assembly.

Latest YouGov poll gives Khan 16% lead over Goldsmith

According to the poll, the Labour candidate is poised to take 48% of first preference votes with Goldsmith winning 32%. After second preference votes are taken into consideration Khan would finish the race with 60% of votes with Goldsmith trailing behind on just 40%.
