Festival to promote London’s restaurants

June 8, 2009 - Staff

Restaurants in the capital are being invited to register for this year’s inaugural London Restaurant Festival.  Supported by Visit London and Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the festival will take place between 8 -13 October 2009 and will aim to drive new diners into restaurants.

Organisers say all venues will be invited to take part in the Festival Menu programme. Festival chair Fay Maschler, says a Festival Menu should encapsulate, explain and deliver the essence of each establishment.

The Festival will open with a high-profile launch party at Quaglino’s on Wednesday 7 October, co-hosted by Vanity Fair magazine.  The culmination will be the London Restaurant Festival Awards in association with the London Evening Standard on Tuesday 13 October 2009.
