Escalator refurbishment at Euston Tube station set to cause disruption

April 8, 2016 - Martin Hoscik

tube_roundel_950Passengers using Euston Underground station are being reminded that refurbishment work starts on the station’s four escalators next week and will result in “limited access” to the Northern and Victoria lines.

London Underground will refurbish the escalators one at a time, with work running from Thursday 14 April until July 2017.

Customers are being advised to allow extra time for their journey as the station will be “very busy, especially during morning and evening peaks” and where possible to use alternative routes and buses.

Peter McNaught, Operations Director for London Underground, said: “I’m sorry for the disruption the escalator refurbishment will cause to customers but I can reassure them that we have plans in place so that any disruption to their journeys is kept to a minimum.

“Refurbishing these escalators is essential to make sure they work reliably for the thousands of people who use the station every day.”
