Silvertown Tunnel to “significantly” delay building of new homes on adjacent land

The tunnel, which will connect the Greenwich Peninsula with Royal Docks, was approved last October by Mr Khan who backed Transport for London’s claims that it will reduce congestion and support regeneration on both sides of the river.

New report says UK’s Brexit deal must meet the needs of London’s small businesses

The report, published today by the London Assembly’s Economy Committee, says ministers must strike a deal with the European Union which “acknowledges the interdependence between London’s small and large businesses,” and avoid focussing just on the needs of major firms.

New Met Commissioner Cressida Dick to start work next week

In her new role she will work alongside Mr Khan to implement his recently published Police and Crime Plan which sets out how the Met and City Hall will keep Londoners safe. She will also have to oversee a new round of swinging budget cuts which is forcing changes to how the Met operates.
