Assembly Greens call for motion supporting 50p tax rate

Darren Johnson, a Green Party member of the London Assembly, will next week ask colleagues to back a motion supporting the 50p tax rate for high earners. Johnson’s motion follows calls by Mayor of London Boris Johnson for the Government to abolish the rate which supporters say affects only the richest 1% of households in the UK.
