The City of London’s ward elections were held yesterday (16th March) with 128 candidates contesting 100 seats across the 25 Wards., however due to the number of candidates standing in each Ward, only 13 wards had contested elections.
The Labour Party had promised the “first concerted effort by a mainstream political party” to have candidates elected to the Court of Common Council – the main decision-making body of the City of London Corporation but failed to have a a single candidate elected.
