TfL to increase Congestion Charge penalty in bid to reduce congestion

Over the past year years the number of Penalty Charge Notices issued has risen from 1.3 million in 2011/12 to 1.5 million in 2016/17, which TfL says proves the current £130 fine is no longer an “effective” deterrent.

Sadiq Khan says response times in new Met command areas are “unacceptable”
