Londoners returning to work after the festive break will today be making their first commutes under Boris Johnson’s new fares package which he unveiled in October. The package sees bus fares increase for the second time since Johnson came to office with a single Oyster pay as you go fare increasing from £1 to £1.20.
Train 24/7 Freedom Pass talks unlikely to start before Easter 2010
Negotiations with train operators to allow Freedom Pass holders to use rail services in the capital at any time of the day are unlikely to start before Easter according to Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
Christmas 2009 congestion charge changes
As in previous years, London’s congestion charge scheme will be suspended over the Christmas period, allowing drivers to enter the zone without penalty. The Christmas non-charging period will be in effect from Friday 25 December until Friday 1 January inclusive. Normal charging resumes from Monday 4 January 2010.

Passenger watchdog London TravelWatch is urging transport users in the capital to check they are getting the best deal on fares before buying their season ticket for the New Year.
PPP Arbiter sets Tubes Lines contract at £4.4bn
The cost of works on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines over the 7½ years from 1 July 2010 should be set at £4.4bn according to Chris Bolt, the independent Tube PPP Arbiter.
