London Underground bosses have today published an ‘open letter’ to passengers setting out the case for Boris Johnson’s controversial plans to reduce the opening hours of Tube ticket offices ahead of a briefing with Trades Unions on Thursday.
London Councils issues Freedom Pass expiry warning
As many as 150,000 Freedom Pass holders have yet to apply for a new-style pass despite current passes expiring at the end of this month according to London Councils, the pan-London body which administers the Freedom Pass scheme.
MPA meeting to discuss civil liberties report
The Metropolitan Police Authority meets this Thursday at City Hall when members of the authority will discuss the ‘Post G20’ Civil Liberties Panel Report on public order policing which was published last week. The panel was chaired by MPA and London Assembly Member Victoria Borwick who last week warned: “The impact on public confidence when public order policing goes wrong, even though those instances may be very rare, cannot be underestimated.”
