Bus WiFi: Would it really enhance Londoners’ journeys and boost passenger numbers?

With bus usage falling, Transport for London is being urged to look at innovative ways to woo passengers back onto the network. One of the most commonly suggested solutions is that WiFi be introduced to the bus fleet, just as it was to Tube stations and platforms.

Sadiq Khan urged to allocate spare £50m of council tax to boost Met’s budget

Council tax bills are set to rise after the Government said local mayors and police and crime commissioners would need to raise extra money for their forces locally. The policy has been criticised by the Mayor who has accused ministers of “smoke and mirrors” in announcing an increase in budgets without providing the funding.

Watchdog warns Sadiq’s plans to part-pedestrianise Oxford Street will create “considerable hardship” for bus passengers

London Travelwatch says that many bus passengers will be inconvenienced as routes will need to terminate sooner, forcing passengers to either walk hundreds of metres to catch an additional bus, or have to complete their journey by the more expensive Tube.
