£150,000 Available for Hammersmith Groups

July 1, 2008 - Staff

Local voluntary and community groups in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham are being invited to bid for grants of up to £5,000 from the council’s Fast Track scheme.

The council has made £150,000 available to help support groups carrying out community work in the borough with grants ranging from £100 to a maximum £5,000.

Cllr Antony Lillis, Cabinet Member for Community and Children’s Services, said the council’s Fast Track scheme "is delivering what it was supposed to. We promised that the grants pot would be made available to small groups wanting fairly modest sums of money as well as to the larger groups which the council has historically supported."

Praising the fund Melanie Kemps, Director of H&F Action Trust for the Blind, said the £4,700 her organisation had received in March had helped "fund our subsidised lunch club for blind and partially sighted people on a Thursday. It has been a great help and I would encourage other small voluntary groups in H&F to apply to the council’s Fast Track scheme. We have found that it is a very easy process with comparatively little form filling.”

If you work for a voluntary or community group in Hammersmith &
Fulham and would like to apply for a small grant between £100 and
£5,000, you can request an application form by calling 020 8753 2487 or
emailing community.liaison@lbhf.gov.uk.

You can also download a pdf version of the application form by clicking on www.lbhf.gov.uk/communityliaison. The closing date for completed application forms is 18 July 2008.
