Tube Lines reaches upgrade ‘milestone’

Tube PPP contractor Tube Lines has announced its reached a major milestone in the upgrade of Jubilee line trains. The company confirms that all 63 trains operating on the line have now been fitted with new new signalling equipment and each has also undergone a complete rewiring.

The company is aiming to complete the upgrade of signalling systems on the Jubilee and Northern lines by 2009 and days this will lead to faster journeys and increased capacity on both lines.

Speaking Thursday, Andrew Clark, Project Manager at Tube Lines promised: “By the time the Olympic and Paralympic Games arrive in London, the Jubilee and Northern line upgrades will be up and running and will mean quicker train rides for more passengers to events in East London and in particular to the Olympic Park in Stratford.”
