Tourism bosses unveil Gay London iPhone app

The capital’s tourism chiefs have released a new ‘Gay London’ app for Apple’s iPhone in a bid to make the capital more attractive to LGBT visitors.

Providing listings of bars, restaurants, hotels and attractions, the app also features a blog which, it is promised, will be “continuously updated” with information on news and events of interest to Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender visitors to the city.

“London is an exciting destination with much to offer LGBT travelers,” said Martine Ainsworth-Wells, Marketing Director, Visit London. “We invite the community to take in our city’s unique cultural and nightlife options and enjoy our shopping, restaurants and wide range of hotels. Only in London can you shop to your heart’s content in shopping districts like Oxford Street, Carnaby Street or Saville Row and end the day in Soho, home to our city’s gay community.”

The ‘Gay London’ app is available for free download.

  1. Colin says:

Sorry but it’s not a free download – they’re still charging 59p for this abysmal app.

  2. Hi Colin, think you may be looking at the wrong app as it’s only recently launched and is presently listed as ‘free’.

  3. It definitely is a free app – and a good one too.

With LGBT tourists contributing billions to the UK, and in particular London, economy; anything we can do to encourage this is a great thing!
