It' ok September 28, 2009 Lexie (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i purchased the cd after typing in the galway girl and seeing this album pop up - i maybe should have checked the list of songs on the cd first but i had assumed that as i had put this song in then it would bring up the album with it on (and the version i wanted). It is an Ok album none the less just warning that this song is not on the album.
Enjoyable....but September 16, 2009 Doone Dowson (North Yorkshire) I just wish more of the songs that made the film so fabulous were actually on the CD. Though my favourite - Love you til the End, is on it, there are so many that have been left off. I agree with other reviews that a second CD could be brought out. The songs that 'Gerry' sang played a huge part in the charm of the movie. However, it is a great CD, and I do love all the songs on it.
Amazing! June 10, 2008 Jenny, Wondrous Reads (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my favourite film soundtrack of the last few years. Every song is brilliant, and relates well to the story and film.
The music chosen for this soundtrack is a mix of pop, rock and alternative, with a couple of highly popular UK artists (Paolo Nutini & James Blunt) even making it onto the CD.
My personal favourite is 'Last Train Home' by Ryan Star. I also like 'More Time' by NeedToBreathe, and 'If I Ever Leave This World Alive' by Flogging Molly.
It's the perfect companion to the movie - or even the book - if you haven't yet seen the big screen adaptation.
Great film not such a great soundtrack!! May 23, 2008 Kirsty N. Nelmes (Taunton, Somerset) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
'PS I Love You' is ultimately the best film I have seen in years!! THe songs in the film are so intense to the plot, it had me crying and laughing all the way through. The soundtrack has some fantastic songs on it, but I was disappointed that my favourite song, Galway Girl, sung by Gerard Butler in the film is not included. This also goes for Hilary Swank's karaoke rendition of Get Off by Prince. All in all, a great soundtrack that reminds you of very intimate moments in the film. A must buy - both the film & soundtrack!!!
Some of the most memorable songs are not on the soundtrack May 21, 2008 Stella Balogh (Brussels, Belgium) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
This CD has some great songs which will instantly remind you of the movie (If I Ever Leave This World Alive, Love You 'Till the End), and others which are great on their own (my personal favourite is P.S. I Love You by Nellie McKay, though this is quite an old song, the lyrics and the melody fit the story so well, it could have been written for this movie). My big complaint is that even though these tracks are enjoyable, I think most of those who saw the movie buy the soundtrack because of some very memorable music moments: Gerry's funeral, the karaoke songs, and one of the best moments of the film: the Galway Girl rendition. And all these tracks are missing!! They are not on the Soundtrack!! I think it is unforgivable not to put the songs sung by the actors when there are so many great and memorable performances, and since these moments are crucial to the story!!
I sadly miss the "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues, which gives such a unique and "smiling-through-our-tears" feeling to Gerry's funeral, Gerard Butler's excellent, sexy and fun Galway Girl and also Hilary Swank's karaoke songs.
I feel these songs are essential to the movie and thus to the soundtrack, it is a shame they were omitted.
