Assembly Appoints Jennette Arnold as Chair

The London Assembly today voted to appoint Labour's Jennette Arnold as Chair of the Assembly and Green Party Assembly Member Darren Johnson as her deputy.

Seconding Ms Arnold's nomination LibDem leader Mike Tuffrey said it was right that the "non-Mayoral" parties take the lead on the Assembly.

Johnson Appoints Young People's Advisor

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has announced the appointment of Ray Lewis as his advisor for Young People.

A former prison Governor, Mr Lewis is described as having "considerable experience working with young men" as Director of EastSide Young Leaders Academy which works with youths to help turn their lives around.

First Assembly Meeting and Mayor's Questions Announced
