The RMT union is now balloting members on possible strike action after Metronet refused to reinstate staff they sacked for storing, and allowing to be stored, alcohol at Farringdon Station. If members back the ballot the RMT will hold a series of one day strikes.
The union claims the eight sacked staff are “scapegoats” while Metronet points out that they were sacked for knowing that alcohol was being stored and failing to report it.
