ODA Public Transport Update

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has launched a new regular publication which sets out indicative forecast travel demand during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Called ‘pace’ the publication has been sent to Olympic stakeholders to provide an update on the progress that’s being made in the delivery of the Transport Plan, which was published in October last year.

Organisers say they expect up to 275,000 spectators each day to travel to and from events in the Park with around half traveling by rail.

ODA Transport Director, Hugh Sumner, said “A major factor within our planning is to keep London and the UK moving during the Games. We have conducted a significant amount of research into population figures and data from other sporting events, such as the World Rowing Championships, to predict where people are most likely to travel from.”
