Like a Magician - Boris cuts here and there, and yet all the pieces of string remain intact.

I applaud the cutting of foreign trip expenses (but with cution as Simon pointed out above).

However what price would the public have put on including the member of Boris's entourage (who was presumably left behind) who was responsible for 'preventing him looking like na idiot'.

BTW - "Crossrail is still on track" - great achivement there as it's only just come out of the planning stage. Delays and increased costs don't normally occur until well into the build phase.
This along with the "plans to introduce a new bus, specifically tailored to London’s unique needs are well advanced" - I presume this means we ran a competition and picked a winner - is too much making something out of nothing to fill the gaps of what has been a Mayorship of 'only do things you now are safe' - which is likely to be the resounding memory of Boris's term.

All I need to know is what I saw when Boris was asked a question by the assembly - when confronted with his incorrect answer he simply said in a child-like manner "no, no it isn't, no, no, no, no"

With that sort of behaviour I could easily find a 6 year old to replace that bufoon - and they wouldn't need the salary Boris gets.

If he wants to really impress Londoners - how about he donates his wages back into the GLA. Then I might change my mind.

I live in the middle of London but like Roger I welcome the efforts to reach out to those in outer London who, it seems to me, have less interaction with the GLA and its services than the rest of us.

But if the Havering Fire Station he refers to is this one:

the process was started long before Boris took office.

"Expensive foreign policy lunches and trips to Cuba and Venezuela were cancelled"

Roger makes it sound like these were a monthly occurrence and neglects to mention the 24/7 freedom pass he boasts of is paid for by London Councils not the GLA precept.
