For three nights starting tonight (Thursday) the London Eye will be lit in the colours of the Gay Pride rainbow flag in homage to the 40 year anniversary of its creation.
The lighting effect is also being timed to coincide with this weekend’s Pride celebrations and organisers say will be best seen from around 10pm every night.
David Sharpe, Managing Director for The London Eye said “Pride London is a great London event, celebrating London’s diversity and what better way to show our support than by turning the London Eye all the colours of the rainbow.”
Pride’s Marketing and Communications Manager David Drury said it was “great to see that London is as excited as we are about this year’s event.”
