With London’s Tories holding their first hustings to find a candidate to stand against him next at next year’s Mayoral elections Ken Livingstone has issued a series of “key policy questions” for the party.
In a statement issued through his campaign team Mr Livingstone said he “will not vote” in the Tory selection process and asked “those who support me to do likewise” adding “it’s for the Tories to decide who they want to champion their wrong path for the capital.”
Mr Livingstone commented: “given that many of the most negative things that London has had to overcome in this were a result of Mrs Thatcher’s undemocratic abolition of London city government in the form of the GLC, wouldn’t it be better for the Tories to admit that their thirty year record shows they are incapable of running London successfully?”
