Tube Lines reaches upgrade ‘milestone’

Tube PPP contractor Tube Lines has announced its reached a major milestone in the upgrade of Jubilee line trains. The company confirms that all 63 trains operating on the line have now been fitted with new new signalling equipment and each has also undergone a complete rewiring.

Tube Lines completes West Finchley makeover

Underground maintenance contractor Tube Lines has completed an extensive overhaul of passenger information systems on the Northern Line’s West Finchley station The work includes installation of a new customer information system and a new public address system for the ticket halls and on platforms.

Johnson and Hendy unveil air conditioned trains

Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Transport Commissioner Peter Hendy today have unveil details of new air-conditioned trains which will operate on the Metropolitan line from 2010 and the Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines from 2011. Transport for London (TfL) say the new trains will allow passengers to benefit from air conditioning, walk-through carriages, CCTV coverage in each carriage and improved accessibility.

Mayor calls on Darling to plug PPP ‘black hole’
