London fire authority to discuss budget

London’s fire authority will be meeting at City Hall tomorrow (Thursday 20th November) where they will discussing a number of issues including the Mayor’s preliminary draft budget proposals for 2009/10.

Bromley launches elderly householder safety scheme

Bromley Council has teamed up with Age Concern, the London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police to compile a new information pack designed to help older people feel safer in their own homes. The ‘Safe as Houses’ packs include a ‘Nominated Neighbour’ card which enables older and more vulnerable people to tell unexpected callers to contact a nominated neighbour who lives nearby.
