The booklet is distributed by London Elects
The booklet is distributed to the capital’s 5.8m voters by London Elects, the official body which oversees elections to City Hall.
It also contains a list of all London Assembly candidates, details of what the Mayor and London Assembly do and information on how to vote.
Copies are available in large print, Braille or audio on request and a digital copy is also available online at www.londonelects.org.uk.
Greater London Returning Officer, John Bennett, said: “Londoners will soon make a choice which will affect the way their capital is run for the next four years.
“They’ll elect a Mayor with an annual budget of around £14billion and the 25 London Assembly Members who act as the eyes and ears of Londoners and make sure the Mayor delivers on his promises.
“These people make decisions which affect your everyday life in London, so voters should look out for our booklet, which will help them make that important choice. Make sure you know how to vote so you can have your say on 3rd May.”

…and what a truly dreadful booklet this is. Like something out of 1950s electioneering. No wonder it is ignored as a kind of lesser grade pizza leaflet of the type we all “know and love”…As we know, the candidates are barred from even writing a letter to their constituents in this election. So for the candidates branded in the “wrong class” by the BBC and barred by state radio and tv from effective access to broadcast media, this is the only contact they will have with all constituents. Is it not extraordinary that the BBC should select one candidate from the “minor” parties with a lower or equal London Mayor poll ranking to others (the Greens) and hand them hours and hours of free advertising on tv…and bar candidates like UKIP (of whom they have always made clear they disapprove) from meaningful tv? Let us hope that the booklet is not as dire as it usually is, but don’t hold your breath…
You are Wasted Damian you can be my Press advisor? if i stand again….I am not a tweet….
Robin, thanks for that. I forgot to mention that what is even worse is that the booklet is censored by the state. Unlike the election leaflets for Westminster sent through the mail, which were checked for a few very basic things (ie to make sure you were not using it to sell stuff etc), this booklet is censored in regard to political content – for example, when I actually stood for London Mayor mine was censored to remove my references to the London Assembly elections! And as I say it looks just appalling. I showed a copy of the 2008 disaster to one of the prospective candidates for Mayor of New York and told him this was the only thing allowed to be sent to all voters. He just said “you have got to be kidding”.
