Tory Mayoral candidate Boris Johnson visited Haberdashers’ Aske’s College in New Cross today to run a seminar with 30 teenagers on the subjects of knife and gun crime.
Mr Johnson also called on politicians to and policy makers to engage young with people.
Speaking afterward today’s event he said “Politicians can talk about solving knife crime but they will only really understand when they go and talk to young people about how it directly affects them. This morning was incredibly interesting – I value every opinion in the room and will take on board what they had to say.”
Last week the Metropolitan Police Authority asked the capital’s youth to share their experiences of crime and policing.
