City invites bids for Lord Mayor’s Show funding

Community groups are being invited to apply for funding of up to £15,000 to allow them to take part in this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show on November 13th. Each year the City of London Corporation awards four groups funding and assistance to join the dozens of floats taking part in the historic parade to welcome the new Lord Mayor of the City of London.

The London Assembly will meet tomorrow to consider Boris Johnson’s proposed appointment of Metropolitan Police Authority deputy Chairman Kit Malthouse to the role of Chair. The nomination of Malthouse follows the Mayor’s decision in January to step down from the role despite an election vow chair the MPA and not to “shrug my shoulders and pass the buck” over the capital’s policing challenges.
