5 out of 5 stars Works for rats!!   August 27, 2008

Most of the reviews for this product seemed to be about mice, so if you are looking for a good rat trap here it is!
I thought that we would try this as we had a persistent problem with rats in our out house. We have baited the trap with chocolate buttons and had three kills in three nights. The rats have been very large, filling the trap but it has been powerful enough to do the job.
The trap has done a better job than using poison, and also there is no need to touch the rat, it just tips into a bin bag.

5 out of 5 stars It works (thank goodness)!!   August 22, 2008

I bought this product after a handful of mouse sightings (and one particularly memorable incident where the little *dear* ran over my bare foot in the bathroom). I had previously tried humane traps and the ultra-sonic deterrents, neither of which had any impact at all.

The batteries are, as has been said elsewhere, a total pain to fit, but I found it otherwise simple to set up. I bought it just over two weeks ago and it has been sitting inactive since then, with no sign of any mice...until this morning, when I discovered the indicator light flashing and sure enough, the trap has had its first victim!

I'm very squeamish, but didn't find disposing of the mouse too traumatic. I didn't have to look at it at all - just picked up the trap, carried it to the bin and tipped it out - problem solved!

I would recommend this product - it has given me peace of mind and I'm really pleased to confirm that it DOES work!

4 out of 5 stars A must have if you have rats or mice   August 10, 2008

I have tried other mouse killers before but this is the most effective. Within an hour of setting it down it had killed 2 mice.

It is quite expensive but when you weigh up what you spend on poison and snap traps with little success it is truly worth the money.

My advice: Buy it!

Great product. The little meeces look so peaceful once they have been dispatched. A much better way of doing it than the horrible snap traps which maim and cause suffering before the mouse dies. Yes the batteries are a little bit tight but that's not really a problem.

Once I used my head with regard to baiting for mice rather than rats have had great success. Four mice in space of couple of days. And that's checking and resetting only in the morning and then again when getting home from work. Maybe I need another one to up the numbers although hoping that there really aren't many more!!

Of course if you want to catch mice with this device following the instructions to place the bait on the innermost plate will not work. Mice are small enough to get the bait from there by sticking their heads through the holes in the grill, in fact they can get right in and onto that end plate and out again with their spoils.

So for mice, place the bait at either end of the middle plate, in towards the centre a little to make sure that have to step on the middle plate from whichever end they enter.

We have had an infestation since our neighbours had their garden dug up. Since this arrived the kill rate is about 1 a night, on the same batteries ( yes they are a pain to load, I had to get a friend to do it as I have weak wrists). Am ordering another as we have mice upstairs and downstairs, but this kills them so quickly and it's so easy to remove. On about 12 so far, and the neighbours cat thinks I'm his friend as I pour a mouse into the gutter each mornign!
