2 out of 5 stars fast but unstable   July 19, 2008

Extreme three cerainly is fast at downloading multiple shots, which is useful if you are a sports photographer or similar. But they are the most unstable cards I have used. If you keep the images for any length of time and don't download to your computer you will find that many of the shots will be lossed. For instance if you are on holiday for 3 weeks or more you will find that about 20% of your photos have dropped off the card. The percentage will increase the longer the time. Sandisk must be aware of the problem, that is why they give free retrieval software with each and every card. I can't be the only person that has had this problem. Own up - Extreme three wears no clothes.

To get charged seperate postage for 2 cf cards is really shocking especially when it only cost 2.17p to post to me,i will think twice about shopping here now.

2 out of 5 stars Beware of the postage   January 11, 2008

These are great products and it seems as if they are offered here at the best price available anywhere. But beware! Postage is charged at 4.50 PER ITEM, ten times what it must cost the supplier, making them far more expensive than most other online stores. I wanted to buy 10 but will look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars Reliable product   November 6, 2007

It does what it says on the label and is fast.

BUT why 4-50 postage for something which weighs less than 100 grams and can be posted by 1st class mail?

Amazon should be selling these alongside the cameras it loves to sell for zero postage; not leaving customers to buy from an independent with extra postage charges.

4 out of 5 stars Reliable, good capacity and very cheap   October 7, 2007

There's not much difference generally between the different brands of Sandisk but I would recommend the Sandisk Extreme III for the following reasons:
- Good brand, so should remove any fears of photos getting lost
- Very good value for money (at time of writing this review it is half the price of the Extreme IV)
- There's not that much difference between the III and IV versions, with the performance improvement only coming into consideration if you have a camera which takes advantage of the IV's design, and even then it only matters if you are taking photos at such a frequency that your camera's buffer is not capable of handling it.
